Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park
Cruise on a recreational, two-story ship (with the possibility of sunbathing on its roof), while enjoying Albanian music and rakia! Offboard, we will admire the waters of both the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. The views during the cruise are relaxing and delightful. It is no wonder that this area is protected and belongs to the National Marine Park. After mooring at the Karaburun Peninsula (NMP), we can relax on its heavenly beach. We will spend three hours on it, basking in the hot Albanian sun. We will be able to use the bar and restaurant located on the peninsula, and those who like adrenaline will be able to sail by speedboat to the pirate cave.
Then we will board the ship and sail to the largest Albanian island – Sazan. We will also sail past the aforementioned cave, which was once the hiding place for the pirate, Haxhi Ali. Sazan Island is the furthest point from Albania towards Italy, and has therefore always had military functions. During the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, the militarization of the island reached its apogee. To this day, there are about two thousand bunkers scattered across it, along with the remains of an abandoned city from the bygone era of Albanian communism. This is a real treat for military fans. If you are not interested, you can opt for another hour of relaxation on the “wild” beach of Sazan Island (NMP). After a full day of activities, it’s time to board the ship for the last time and set sail toward the port of Vlorë, while admiring the sun setting in the west. Sounds like a perfect day on vacation!
ATTENTION: The trip program may change if the weather conditions do not allow for its safe implementation – decisions are made by the captain.
